Welcome to Agora, the Alumni Service for Durham Business School

Serving over 11,000 alumni and reaching over 100 countries worldwide, Agora's global network facilitates friendship and business connections in both social and professional circles. Serving alumni and current students alike, Agora and its global network is an inclusive, diverse community and sits very much at the heart of the ‘Durham Experience’.

Given that a large proportion of our alumni are based overseas and that digital communication is the modern way to connect, the School has invested in a new online portal. AgoraWeb, which is our main communication tool, provides an interactive framework for our alumni community to unite and exchange ideas, and to make use of our Continual Professional Development resources.

Graduates of Durham Business School (DBS) have automatic lifetime membership of Agora, although we do invite all DBS graduates to register their preference in becoming an active member of the service on AgoraWeb.

Login for full member access to a range of alumni benefits and services including searching for friends and classmates, establishing a network of professional contacts, finding out how you can get involved with our activities and what resources we have to support your professional development.

Save The Date!!

In 2011, DBS will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the MBA course in all its forms.

We will be having a 'reunion' weekend from 3-5th June 2011. The weekend will feature some guest speakers in the form of past and present academics, a formal dinner and tours of Durham City.  The weekend will also coincide with the Durham Convention (3rd June 2011) which will be in its third year.

We are currently in the planning stages so if you have any suggestions on how to make the weekend extra memorable please let us know!

Accommodation can be booked via Event Durham for venues within the University and Tourist Infomation for privately owned hotels and B&B's.

Agora defined

Cultural, political and economic life in ancient Athens revolves around the agora (the central square). The agora defined the space of democracy, an open space that served as a vibrant meeting place where the community could strengthen its network of relationships; transactions were carried out, gossip exchanged, conspiracies organised, knowledge created, friendships strengthened.
