Durham Ambassadors
There are many ways in which alumni can contribute to the activities of Durham Business School. Below is a selection of activities in which we hope you might like to participate. As an alumna/alumnus, it is evident that you are the most appropriate ambassadors for Durham Business School, having experienced all that the School has to offer at first hand. Consequently we rely on your collaboration to support and promote the School in a variety of ways:
We hold many events throughout the year, both in Durham and around the world. These may include guest speaker evenings, workshops, research seminars and social events such as the Alumni Ball and social nights.
As a member of Agora you are also encouraged to bring guests and work colleagues to many of our events so that they, too, can experience what Durham has to offer. Many of our events follow the Schools philosophy of Lifelong Learning. Please see Events for forthcoming events in your area.
We would love to hear your ideas for future events and venues. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us: dbs.alumni@durham.ac.uk.

Many of our alumni return to the School as guest speakers - sharing their workplace experience, knowledge and expertise. Talks may draw on academic or career experience to illustrate current thinking in a specific business area or may provide an insight into forging careers in a particular area of expertise.
Please contact the Alumni Team if you are interested in speaking or if you are able to suggest a speaker from your company.

As part of Durham Business School’s annual recruitment drive, faculty and staff attend numerous recruitment fairs worldwide and welcome alumni support. As a Durham graduate, you can provide an invaluable insight into life as a student, and feedback from applicants indicates that this personal touch is very important in their decision-making process.
Potential applicants are often keen to talk with someone who has already completed their programme, and can tell them about their own experience; about student life in Durham, or about studying at a distance. If you are willing to act as a contact in such cases all you need to do is tick the box on your personal profile giving permission for your email address to be made available to enquirers.
A calendar of forthcoming recruitment fairs is available online. If you are able to volunteer for an event in your area we would love to hear from you. Please email dbs.alumni@durham.ac.uk or telephone +44 (0)191 334 5277 for further information.
