Telephone Campaigns
The Annual Giving Programme ran its first telephone campaign back in 1994.
Since then we have been overwhelmed by the support of over 11,000 alumni raising
over £4 million for the University.
One of the most personal ways of contacting our graduates is by telephone. We
employ a team of current Durham students to make the telephone calls to our
graduates. These phone calls not only raise awareness of the Annual Giving
Programme but also build and strengthen the relationship that we have with our
alumni, providing the chance for graduates to ask the caller any questions that
they may have about Durham. The student callers are also able to ask graduates
for their opinions on the University and hear personal memories about what the
‘Durham Difference' has meant to them.
As those who have been contacted will know, our Student Callers are extremely
dedicated to their role within the Annual Giving Programme and their efforts
have been rewarded by the amazing response they receive from our alumni. Many of
you have contacted us to let us know how much you have enjoyed the chance to
speak with current students on the telephone and to become involved in Durham in
this way.
