A Gift in your Will
What will your legacy be?
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others” Pericles, circa 442 BC
Legacy gifts are an integral part of Durham University’s heritage. In 1832, Bishop Van Mildert endowed Durham University with its castle, medieval buildings, libraries and estates to create England’s third university. For generations thereafter, the University has flourished because of our benefactors’ generous legacies.
Individual legacies are essential to the advancement of Durham University. The financial support they provide places committed alumni and its supporters at the forefront of our development as a modern university.
A legacy is one of the most simple and flexible ways of giving to Durham. We would be very happy to discuss with you what your legacy gift could accomplish for the University, and provide you with sample wording for your solicitor to place a legacy provision in your Will.
