Alumni Associations

There are lots of different ways to get involved with Durham's alumni community. Below are details of some of our associations and networks with links in the left-hand side bar.

Dunelm Society (formerly DUSada)

Dunelm Society (formerly Durham University Society - association for Durham alumni) is the lead UK-based alumni association for former Durham students and exists to provide quality events for alumni to meet old friends and make new ones. Dunelm Society is the lead for coordinating quality events across the UK and is always keen to hear from potential organisers.

Regional

Informal regional associations exist around the UK led by alumni volunteers. See the regional list for details of one in your area, and the events diary for information about what's on.

International

Networks of Durham alumni now exist across the world. DunelmUSA (formerly NAFUD) is the lead USA based alumni association. DunelmUSA was established principally with the goals of providing networking opportunities for all Durham alumni resident in the United States, Canada, or elsewhere in North America, and with fostering a continuing relationship between the University of Durham and its North American alumni.  DunelmUSA board members are resident across the United States on both east and west coastal areas. Check out the list to see if there is one near you and, if not, get in touch and help us start one.

Colleges

Each College and Society has an association, some highly organised, some more informal, all of which keep alumni in touch with each other and organise college events and reunions.

Departments

Some academic departments have alumni associations, organise reunion events and send newsletters.

Sport and Special Interest Groups

A number of sports clubs have Sports Alumni Associations which provide active support for students who are currently in Durham. Some also provide newsletters and events to keep alumni in touch. In addition, some student societies have their own active alumni networks.
