Mentor Scheme
We are now recruiting mentors and mentees to take part in the Agora Mentor Scheme for the academic year 2010-1011.
The Scheme runs for one academic year (longer for those on the Global or Executive programmes). Mentors would be expected to support and advise mentees throughout the year. Mentees are also expected to communicate fully with their mentor and use their expertise wisely.
Agora makes matches primarily based on programme and professional interests. We do request a geographical preference but this is not the primary means to make matches. Mentors from around the globe are welcome, and this bears no effect on the match. Most correspondance takes place by telephone, email, skype or other agreed forms. Some partnerships to manage to meet face to face, but this is not essential.
Previous experience as a mentor is not essential as guidance will be given by the alumni office and our support is available throughout the year.
Should you wish to sign up to this service, in either role, the deadline for applicants is 18th October 2010. If you require any advice before signing up, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can find more information on the registration document* for the scheme. Once completed you can email it back to Sarah Menday on dbs.alumni@durham.ac.uk.
