Email Forwarding Issues

We are aware of an ongoing issue with our forwarding service to @dunelm.org.uk addresses.  The forwarding address, which is provided by a non-University third-party, is sometimes being blocked by Yahoo, Sky and Clara email accounts due to these emails being identified as spam. We have been working closely with the supplier to resolve this but anticipate that some variation of the issue will continue indefinitely.

We are therefore looking into alternative solutions for the @dunelm.org.uk forwarding service as a priority and will announce the new service when it is finalised.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this has been causing and we hope to be able to provide an improved service shortly. In the meantime, if you have any further questions please address these to operations.helpdesk@durham.ac.uk

We are still experiencing issues for some users of the email forwarding service. The forwarding address, which is provided by a non-University third-party, is being blocked by Yahoo, Sky and Clara email accounts due to these emails being identified as spam. We have been working closely with the supplier on this to resolve it.

The filters have been re-balanced as best they can but we know that the service is still not meeting all of your needs. We are looking into alternative solutions for the @dunelm.org.uk forwarding service as a priority.

We understand that a number of users have been experiencing problems with the email forwarding service available through Dunelm.org.uk.

This issue was a result of the service provider adjusting the spam filter to too high a level resulting in legitimate emails being blocked and a notification sent back to the sender. We are working with the provider who has refined the settings and emails are now being allowed through.

Some of the emails being allowed through may have “Spam” appended to their subject line so we advise alumni using this service to check their junk email or spam folder for legitimate emails. If you do find legitimate emails are still being treated as spam and are willing to share them, please email them to itservicedesk@durham.ac.uk as this will help the supplier resolve the issues with their filter. When contacting us about these issues please add “Dunelm Email Forwarding” to any subject line.

If you are expecting emails and have not received them, then we would recommend asking the sender to resend them.

We are working with our supplier to restore normal forwarding as quickly as possible.

If there are further developments with this issue, we will post updates here.

We are sorry to report that some users have been experiencing problems with the email forwarding service available through Dunelm.org.uk.

Durham University is looking into the issues with the provider and have found that forwarded emails are being blocked by a number of the email service providers. Investigations are ongoing and we hope to have a resolution soon.

We hope that normal forwarding will be resumed without too much more delay.
