Information for alumni

Find out how you can be part of Collingwood Connect

By signing up to Collingwood Connect, you can help current students get help and advice about a particular career or aspect of employment through your knowledge and previous experience. In an increasingly competitive workplace your advice is invaluable to current students.

How does it work?

Step 1: You fill in and activate your profile here. You will need a Dunelm account to do this. If you don’t already have one, you can get one here. Please note that if you do not yet have a Dunelm account it may take up to 2 working days for a member of our team to verify and register you.

Step 2: Current Collingwood students are able to search for alumni who might be able to help, and contact you to request further advice. If a student sends you a message you’ll receive a notification to the email address you have provided.

Step 3: Click on the link in the email to respond to the student. You’ll be brought to this website to reply. Your response will be emailed to the student.

Step 4: When the student has found out all they need to know from you, they will close your relationship.

What do I get in return?

The warm fuzzy glow of knowing that you’re helping current students.

Is being part of Collingwood Connect time-consuming?

It should not be a huge time commitment. If you give plenty of detail on your profile then you may answer students’ questions without the need for them to contact you.

No one has contacted me yet. Why is this?

Students’ interests vary from year to year, and also peaks at different points within the academic calendar. If you’ve put lots of detail in your profile, then it might be that students’ questions are answered without the need to contact you. Alternatively, if you haven’t put enough, they might not be sure whether you’re able to help them. We regularly promote Collingwood Connect to our students, so that they do know where to find you when the time comes.
