Donate - Durham University Electric Motorsport

Durham University Electric Motorsport (DUEM) are the world-leaders in the design, manufacture and racing of solar electric vehicles. Founded in 2002, we have always pushed the boundaries of technological innovation to the limit. The 50-strong team is entirely run and led by students at the University outside of academically rigorous degrees, all of whom are incredibly future focused.

We believe that inclusion inspires innovation and have always had students from a diverse academic background, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level: from engineering, to physics, mathematics, biology, economics, marketing and more.

3 years of design and development culminated in our latest car, DUSC2015. A sleek-aerodynamic carbon-fibre monocoque chassis weighs just 200kg, with our innovative in-wheel motor powering the car up to speeds of 70mph. We entered this car into the 2015 World Solar Challenge (a 3000km marathon solar race across the Australian outback) against 45 teams from around the world and received huge acclaim and media coverage.

With attendance at the London Motor Show, exhibition at the Science Museum and an extensive outreach programme to local and national schools, we are firing on all cylinders.

We could not achieve our goals without the continued support of our incredible sponsors and individual donators. What we are doing is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase the very latest technology, to globally educate the importance of renewable technology in an environmentally conscious world and to inspire the next generation of those who dare to think different.

DUEM’s future plans offer unique scope to enhance your CSR attributes and showcase your support of the very latest green technology. They enable connections with the very best student engineers and business minds in the country, and demonstrate your support of British engineering, ingenuity and innovation to the public in a truly exclusive way.

We are on the cusp of something very exciting indeed. We hope you will be a part of it.
