Support independent student journalism

Welcome to the donations page of Palatinate, Durham’s student newspaper and the best student publication in the UK & Ireland, 2021.

Thank you to all the alumni, friends and champions of a free press who have supported us since the launch of this fund in 2020. It is entirely down to your generosity that we have been able to continue printing newspapers, informing thousands of students and holding the University to account.

Supporting Palatinate is investing in the future of journalism: the skills and experience students gain at the newspaper ensure that every year, several of our editors move into roles at national and international media organisations.

Palatinate has produced some of British media’s most eminent figures, from Sir Harold Evans and John Exelby to Jeremy Vine and George Alagiah and continues to provide a training ground for young journalists.

By donating regularly to Palatinate, you will make a direct impact on students’ lives and maintain our 73-year tradition at Durham University.

In recognition of the vital importance of philanthropic support we have developed two supporter packages to show our appreciation for the regular gifts we recieve.
