Durham University exclusive partnership with Durham County Cricket Club (DCCC)

We are pleased to undertake a more visible partnership with Durham County Cricket Club for the domestic and international schedule taking place here in our region over course of the year.

Durham has a unique sporting tradition, with record numbers of our students participating in sports and wellbeing activities both within our colleges and across the broader University. We are deeply proud that many of those students go on to play at club and international levels with many of those alumni in cricket alone - Sir Andrew Strauss, Nasser Hussain, Caroline Atkins - becoming household names; so many more become leaders in their local sporting communities, playing and coaching at grassroots level and using their sporting passions for the benefit of others.

The breadth of talent and ambition within our own institution helps to keep Durham, and the North East, a global focal point for continuing sporting excellence. In addition to the exceptional facilities at Maiden Castle Sports and Wellbeing Park, we can now work with Emirates Riverside Stadium to showcase to the world all of the opportunities to nurture future sporting talent that Durham has to offer.

Our partnership with Durham County Cricket Club will launch with at the England v Sri Lanka One Day International played today and televised globally from the Emirates Riverside. For further information, please contact alumni.office@durham.ac.uk
