Sophie Neville

Over the last few years I have been winning a number of Ladies Challenge titles for archery with my long bow. These have included:
Worcestershire Archery Ladies Champion
West Berks Ladies Champion
Woodmen of Arden Ladies Champion

I currently hold the Woodmen of Arden Ladies Challenge bowl and have a busy season coming up.

Having rowed in the Collingwood Ladies four in 1979, I am now on the crew of The Drapes’ Shallop and took part in the Jubilee Pageant for The Queen at Henley. Last year I was able to row The Queen’s Rowbarge Gloriana in The Boat Race Flotilla, which was fun as we were asked to moor up at the finish line when Cambridge won.

For the last five years I have been taking part in The Waterberg Trust Challenge Ride which raises funds for Save The Waterberg Rhino and community projects in a corner of rural South Africa where I was based for twelve years. In 2017 I was joined by Juliet Maddan (Thornton-Berry) a fellow Collingwood alumni and am currently organising future charity rides. Durham Alumni Alastair Fothergill has helped us to raise funds by giving a talk about his BBC serial The Hunt. I have great photos. I’lll attach a few.
