Ustinov College Update - February 2020

We are looking forward to celebrating Summer Congregation with Ustinovians in early July, with a Congregation Reception to be hosted in Durham World Heritage Centre on Palace Green. Congregation is always an enjoyable occasion and we look forward to joining graduates, families and friends, to celebrate the achievements of Ustinovians at the ceremonies in Durham Cathedral.

In early July, we will also be hosting our Annual Conference - ‘Under the microscope: global citizenship, immigration and the refugee crisis’ – with contributions from academic staff and postgraduate students. The Ustinov Annual Conference forms part of our Global Citizenship Programme and we have enjoyed recent events including Café Scientifique’s Equation of the Universe and Ustinov Intercultural Forum’s Oriental Museum visits. Our recent Encounter Art Exhibition is also now being shown at Pineapple Black Gallery in Middlesbrough between 5 July and 3 August 2019.

We are also delighted to announce that the Ustinov Volunteering Team received a Special Commendation at the Durham University Volunteering Awards, which were recently held in Durham Town Hall. Well done to the team who helped to facilitate the Neville’s Cross Christmas Festival, which was hosted at Sheraton Park last year.

Plans are ongoing for a second London Reunion event in the next few weeks. London based alumni will receive information about this event shortly – to make sure that you receive information from Ustinov College, please ensure that you update your details on your Dunelm profile.

It is always a pleasure to hear from our alumni – if you would like to get in touch, please use our dedicated alumni email address.
