St Cuthbert's Society

Congratulations!

A guide to surviving university: congratulations to Cuth’s student Jack Edwards, who graduated with a first-class English degree this summer, and has now published a book to help other students. The Uni-Verse: The Ultimate University Survival Guide came out from Harper-Collins in August. Jack’s Youtube videos about life in Durham and at Cuth’s are hugely popular; many freshers told us they came to Durham because of him.

Virtual Alumni Event 2020

Instead of the usual Reunion Weekend, Cuth’s alumni participated in an online event on Saturday 12 September, some from as far away as Hong Kong and Edmonton. Colin Colclough, President in 1949, delighted us with his memories, and Saskia, the current President, gave an update on plans for this year, complicated by the pandemic. The Sports and Socs Chair and the Music Rep reported on current activity in sport and music. We hope to have more online alumni events this year, as they allow much wider participation by those who can’t get to Durham.
