Ustinov College Update - March 2021

We have a number of updates for our alumni community this month:

• We were pleased to receive a number of alumni submissions for our upcoming edition of The Ustinovian and look forward to sharing that publication in due course; thank you so much to everyone who contributed! If you weren’t able to be involved this term but are interested in contributing to the next edition, please do get in touch with ustinov.alumni@durham.ac.uk and let us know; we are always keen to share news and updates on where our alumni community are now and the interesting activities that are being undertaken by so many of you!

• We are also delighted to announce the publication of Ustinov College’s new scholarly journal - The Pantomath. The journal features short articles from students, staff, and supporters of Ustinov College on their research and scholarly activities; we are very appreciative of everyone who contributed. You can read the first edition online here. We hope to feature articles from alumni in upcoming editions of the journal and will circulate additional information about how you can take part in due course.

• Look out for our International Women’s Day programme throughout March – we will be releasing a range of pre-recorded interviews with inspirational women, both at Durham University and around the world, working in different sectors. The interviews have been conducted by some of our Global Citizenship Programme scholars and they will be released across the month of March on our YouTube channel; they will be accessible to all and we will be sharing further details via social media across the next few weeks so look out for that!

• In April, the College will mark what would have been the 100th birthday of Sir Peter Ustinov, our College namesake and former Chancellor of Durham University. Planning is currently underway for several days of activities to mark that special date, commencing April 12th 2021 and culminating on Sir Peter’s birthday, April 16th 2021. All activities will be virtual and we will be emailing out more information in due course, so please look out for updates if you would like to know more!
