An exclusive networking event for Durham alumni working or interested in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations hosted by Joe Walton (History, Hatfield, 2003-06).
Joe is Managing Director of Weber Shandwick’s UK Technology Practice based in London. He has been with the company for the last ten years running international communications programmes for a range of technology and B2B brands including BAE Systems, Capgemini, Concur, Epson, Ericsson, Honeywell, Microsoft, Nortel and Symantec.
In addition to his expertise agency-side, Joe has twice been seconded to Microsoft to work as the in-house EMEA PR lead for the company’s advertising business, managing communications across 13 markets in Europe.
An experienced trainer, Joe has run storytelling and presentation courses in the US and Europe for Microsoft, Capgemini and BAE Systems. In 2014, he was invited to spend a week as a professional-in-residence at the University of Nebraska, Omaha where he conducted a series of 15 lectures on topics from creativity to public speaking.
Professor Susan Hart, Dean of Durham University Business School and author of The Marketing Book, Product Strategy and Management and Marketing Changes, will also be in attendance.
