Dear Alumni and Friends
After five happy and successful years at Durham University, I am leaving both to spend more time with family and to pursue professional activities down south. I have been privileged to have worked at Durham and am very grateful for the support for and interest in Durham that our graduates around the world have shown.
The Development and Alumni Relations Office is in a great place at present having achieved its best year ever last year. My colleague, Andy Harston, will act as Director until Spring 2019 while a global search is undertaken: he is well placed to continue and expand our important mission.
I end by thanking all of our friends and donors, Durham’s Vice-Chancellor, leadership and colleagues, and indeed, my own staff, for making my stay such a memorable and fulfilling one. I wish you all great prosperity and happiness.
SincerelyBruno van Dyk
