Durham Inspired: Live in Lockdown
Eat Medieval: A Taste of Easter Past

Wednesday 17 March, 6pm (GMT)

Join us for on a journey through the culinary and cultural history of Easter in the European Middle Ages in this talk by Professor Giles Gasper.

When were Easter Eggs first mentioned? What was Collop Monday? And was lamb always associated with Easter?

Moving from England to France and Catalonia, Giles will introduce different culinary traditions and collections, different customs, and a remarkable research collaboration with Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle - Eat Medieval.
