Durham alumni are invited to an exclusive networking event in Durham, aimed at those working, or interested, in Education. The event is a joint venture between the Alumni Relations office, the School of Education and the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring.
The event will take place at the College of St Hild & St Bede, Durham, on Thursday 31 August from 1.30pm.

1.30pm Arrival with tea/coffee refreshments
1.50pm Welcome from Professor Lynn Newton, incoming Head of School of Education
2.00pm Professor Steve Higgins, Evidence in Education and the Teaching and Learning Toolkit
3.00pm Break with tea/coffee refreshments
3.20pm Professor Rob Coe, The Role of Assessment in Great Teaching
4.20pm Optional participation in CEM focus group/free time
6.30pm Pre-dinner talk - Professor Joe Elliott
7.00pm Barbeque and drinks
We appreciate it is the end of the school holidays and for this reason we have included free time and a social element to the event, as well as an opportunity for alumni to network with fellow professionals.
This event is exclusively for Durham alumni and is open to all who work in or have an interest in Education. Whether you studied Education at Durham or elsewhere, or if you are now retired, all Durham alumni are welcome to attend.
The event is free to attend, spaces are limited and will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Accommodation
We have held an allocation of single bedrooms at Hild Bede should any guests wish to spend the night. The cost of accommodation is £32.00 on a bed and breakfast basis, which includes the alumni discount of 15%. You can reserve and pay for accommodation at the time of booking online.
