The Financial sector faces increasing pressure to provide more reliable, verifiable and extensive services to clients, due to rapid advancements in technology. To address this, many financial service providers have developed the use of data analytics (DA) & Artificial Intelligence (AI) either themselves or by contracting the Big Four, enabling them to benefit from higher efficiency and real time services. Amir’s recent research shows that using big data analytics and AI tools improves the quality of financial services, such as accounting and auditing to the level that meets the expectations of the public, this applies to the private as well as public sector, such as the national health services. 

Dr Amir Michael is an Associate Professor (Teaching) in Accounting at Durham University Business School, Durham University, UK whose research and teaching interests have been fostered by several years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and mentoring at Durham University, Arab Academy for Science & Technology and Alexandria University.
