Dr. Anna Tilba, Associate Professor in Strategy and Governance at the Business School, has spent over a decade of academic research on institutional investors’ investment management practices in relation to stewardship. She will talk to us about connecting academic research to practice and policy making in the UK Financial Services sector. We will learn about her research, focused on improving governance and the levels of transparency and accountability in the sector.
Anna will talk about her recent advisory roles to the Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Reporting Council, The Pensions Regulator and the Department of Work and Pensions in their Consultation on building better regulatory framework for Investor Stewardship. She takes us through how she worked directly with the industry leaders, some of the outcomes and the emerging consensus, and the risks associated with the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During these difficult and uncertain times, resilient and long-term relationships between asset owners, asset managers and investee companies as well as effective stewardship are now more important than ever.
