Adversity and Resilience in Times of Crises: An event with Durham University Hong Kong Alumni Chapter

Saturday 15 May 2021, 5pm HKT / 10am BST

The human costs of the coronavirus pandemic have been tremendous. In addition to affecting the health of communities around the world, it has taken an immeasurable toll on people economically, emotionally, and socially. The virus has also upended the business sector, causing substantial disruptions to operations, supply chains, and production cycles. Therefore, it is more important now than before to consider building adversity and resilience in life and business.

Everyone is welcome to join the Durham University Hong Kong Alumni Chapter to hear from two leading voices Dr Joanna Berry and Professor Andrew Harrison in business and entrepreneurship offering their perspectives on building and maintaining adversity and resilience in times of crisis, expanding our horizons in such times, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for both young graduates and experienced professionals. Since some communities are gradually transitioning into the post-pandemic world, Dr Berry and Professor Harrison will also speak about the attributes and skills that we can develop at the current crossroads that will enable us to confront the future and the next crisis in our personal and professional lives.

The Hong Kong Alumni Chapter remains one of the most active Durham University alumni chapters around the world and they would like to build on this by connecting with other alumni chapters, and increasing their profile within the global alumni family. As such, this event will be led by the chapter, but is open to our alumni community around the world!
