North East based property and investment business, Adderstone Group, founded by Durham alumnus Ian Baggett (Geography, College of St Hild and St Bede, 1994-99), has invested a seven-figure sum into OpenWorks Engineering, an award-winning, hi-tech product company which is developing world-leading security and counter-terrorism products.

Durham Alumna Brings Programme of Writing Workshops to North East

Durham alumna Florianne Humphrey (English Literature, Collingwood College, 2014-17) is facilitating a programme of workshops for community groups in the North East to increase accessibility to writing.

Migrate

Durham alumnus George Chalmers (History, St Aidan's College, 2006-09) has launched Migrate.co.uk, a free service which can save you money on your energy bills every year by keeping you on the cheapest energy deals automatically. For each sign-up Migrate will donate £20 to DUCK Local Charities Fund!

Flakefleet Primary School headteacher Dave McPartlin (Education, St Chad's College, 1997-2000) has made it through to the finals with his school on Britain's Got Talent.

Awais Khan's (Management Studies, 2010-13) novel In the company of Strangers will be published in the UK in July.

Nikolaos Antoniu's (Mathematical Sciences, University College, 1991-94) painting Summer Prophecy (acrylic and crayon on paper), has been selected for this year’s summer exhibition.

Dr Noha Aboueldahab (Law, Ustinov College, 2013-16) a transitional justice specialist has written a article Never lose sight of what victims and their families want.

Sign-up Now for Dunelm Days 2019

Getting involved with Dunelm Days is a great way of keeping in touch with all things Durham and making new connections, whilst being part of a global Durham alumni celebration.
Throughout the month of November, alumni from all corners of the world come together in their local area to share their pride of being a Durham graduate.

The evening will feature hits from films, TV programmes and musicals across all genres, including orchestral, choral, a cappella and brass!
