Durham Alumni evening in Beijing - 1 December 2014

What was the most valuable lesson you learnt whilst at Durham?
Observing the living environment and understanding the friends around in an attentive way is just as important as acquiring professional knowledge.  Real integration can be achieved when local culture and customs are respected and the way of thinking is understood.

What are your fondest memories of Durham?
Three-year stay in Durham has changed my life. A shy and timid girl, under the loving care and encouragement from friends across the whole world, gradually began to express herself and turned to be articulate eventually

What kind of people make up the Durham alumni community in your area? Are they expatriates or locals?
The alumni community is made up of mainly expatriates, but also some locals.

What inspired you to sign up as an alumni volunteer?
I am an alumni committee member of Durham University Business School as well as the alumni leader in Beijing. Moreover, I enjoyed meeting all sorts of interesting and inspiring alumni and organizing activities to let more alumni to join with us. After assisted the Durham Alumni Evening Event in Beijing on 1 Dec. 2014, it is my pleasure to be invited by Bruno Van Dyk to organise alumni events in China. Look forward to network with other alumni to promote the University
