Alumni Network for Durham University Business School
You are in:

Alexey Buditskiy, an MBA alumnus from 2007-2008, was the first DUBS Alumni Network 'Mentor of the Year' following his
first stint on the scheme with three student mentee's. Here, he shares his thoughts on the mentor scheme.

Based on my experience there are some suggestions that I would like to give for future participants:

  1. Take this scheme seriously
  2. Treat your Mentor / Mentee with respect
  3. Try to keep in touch on a regular basis.
  4. Be more proactive and take initiative first
  5. Inform the Alumni Relations Office about any problems / issues
  6. Do not expect too much from the scheme
  7. Try to get the maximum benefit from your communication
