On Saturday 17 February, Stephenson held its first ever Varsity against Josephine Butler college! The score may have not been in our favour with Butler winning 25.5 points to 13.5, but we had a huge crowd of supporters on the day and achieved wins in the ergo competition, men’s rugby, mixed hockey, badminton and pool! This Varsity was hopefully the first of many over the future years of Stephenson as we settle into our new home at Howlands! The day ended with an awards presentation at Josephine Butler College, and Josephine Butler were presented with the varsity trophy and a commemorative framed sporting shirt that was custom made for the occasion!
Our Durham Cathedral trip on Saturday 3 March with the MCR is fast approaching and of course, all of our Alumni are welcome to attend! The tour of the Cathedral will start at 12pm and will last around an hour, involving some historical knowledge of the building and a potential trip to the roof! After the tour, we will be heading into Durham for some food and to catch up on the day! If you are interested in attending, please just email stephenson.alumni@durham.ac.uk. Sign-ups for our Annual London Alumni Reunion are also still open and you can book on via this link until Friday 2 March. This event will again be held in the much loved Parcel Yard and is free for our alumni to attend - we’d absolutely love to see you there!
