Sarah Everard

We are grateful for the inpouring of tributes and condolences from alumni following the tragic death of Sarah Everard, a beloved graduate of Durham University who read Geography at St Cuthbert’s Society.

This is a shocking and profound loss which is felt right across our alumni community and by all here at Durham. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sarah’s family and friends at this difficult time.

The Vice-Chancellor has made a statement on behalf of the University which can be viewed here.

A tribute page in Sarah’s honour has been arranged by St Cuthbert’s Society to share tributes and memories of Sarah to celebrate and remember her life.

If any of our alumni would like to relay any messages to Sarah’s family via the University, we ask that you send them to and we will endeavour to communicate these at the most appropriate time.

Yours, in sadness,

Andrew Harston
