Trevelyan Alumni Association

Your lasting link to College life

Join the Alumni Association

In January 2020 we welcomed our new College Principal, Professor Adekunle Adeyeye. Kunle is a physicist, and has joined us from Singapore where he was founding master of Ridge View Residential College.

As we enter a new chapter in Trevelyan’s history, we would like to review the ways in which we interact with our alumni. All Trevelyanites are Trevelyanites for life, and we want to ensure that all alumni feel a lasting connection to the College that they once called home. To this end, from 2020/21 we are creating a new Alumni Association which all of our alumni, new and old, can become a part of. This new Association will follow a more traditional model that we know has worked well at other Colleges - and we’re sure it will work here too!

All members will receive termly updates, an annual copy of Hippocampus, invitations to termly alumni events, invitations to College events such as Summer Ball, and an Alumni Association pin badge. We will be offering all current graduates of the College the chance to join the Alumni Association for free for a limited time. Details of how to claim your free membership will be posted shortly.

Our new Alumni Association also has a special section that will recognise donors. The Vera Society, an association for our regular donors, is named for the College motto, vera fictis libentius (truth more readily than falsehood) – and, thanks to a competition in the 80s, “Vera” the swimming horse in the crest. Anyone donating £100 or more each calendar year will become a member of the Vera Society, giving them access to priority tickets for College events, an invitation to join the SCR, and a seat at the annual Vera Society Dinner. Donations from alumni have made many positive changes in students’ lives, for example, in recent years we have built a new College gym, opened the Garden of Reflection, and continued to expand our musical provisions for students. Alumni have also donated their time. Last year members of our alumni community returned to College to share their professional experience with our students at the annual careers weekend, providing guidance and advice in a range of fields.

We always look forward to welcoming our alumni back to College, and would love to see you soon. All events have been postponed due to Covid-19, but we will be in touch with new event details as soon as it is safe to host one.
