Dunelm Days

What is Dunelm Days?

Dunelm Days is about celebrating what it means to be a graduate of Durham University.

Dunelm Days began in 2014 and is a global series of co-ordinated, volunteer-led events coinciding with the anniversary of the formation of the first Durham alumni group, Durham University Society, on 31 May 1866. The 2015 celebration saw over 250 alumni attend 24 events across 6 continents. Alumni celebrated in various ways, with informal meet ups for drinks, a river cruise, wine tasting, an escape room and a group bicycle ride to name a few!

The 2016 celebration is particularly special as we will be celebrating the society’s 150th anniversary. The celebration officially runs from 31 May- 30 June, but events in the weeks around this can also be branded as Dunelm Days.

Whether you are already a part of a Durham alumni network, or are looking to make new connections, this is the ideal opportunity to join a global celebration of what it means to be Durham alumni and share memories of your time at Durham.

Durham alumni and guests are invited to commemorate Dunelm Days by attending events in their local area as a way of celebrating all things Durham, recognising the importance of University connections and maintaining them. The events also provide an opportunity to catch-up with old friends, make new friends and reminisce about time spent at Durham.
